Automatic Gates

Commercial automatic gates designed around your site

As the first line of defence for your business, an automatic gate has to be secure, simple to use and able to work with the rest of your security systems.

MSME Security provides a one stop solution for commercial security systems and has been designing, installing and integrating automatic gate systems for over six years. Each gate system is customised to the security and logistical needs of your facility.

Our network of suppliers across the industry lets us offer a range of options, including sliding gates, bi folding gates and swing gates. Your engineer will recommend the type that suits your entrance, the space available and the traffic it needs to handle.

What we install

Automatic gate options

  • Sliding gates

Ideal for wide vehicle entrances and sites where there is no room for a gate to swing, common at warehouses and yards.

  • Bi folding gates

Fast opening gates that need less space than a swing gate, useful at busy entrances.

  • Swing gates

A versatile choice for many commercial entrances, available as single or double leaf.

  • Access control at the gate

Card and fob readers, keypads, intercoms and number plate recognition so the right vehicles get through without delay.

  • Safety features

Safety edges, photocells and detection that stop the gate if a person or vehicle is in its path.

  • Integration with your site security

Gates linked to CCTV, barriers and security fencing for a complete, synchronised approach to perimeter security.

Typical uses

What automatic gates are used for

  • Securing perimeter boundaries

Close the gap in your perimeter fencing with a gate that is just as secure as the fence around it.

  • Controlling vehicle access

Decide which vehicles can enter the premises and when, including out of hours.

  • Regulating entry and exit points

Manage the flow of authorised vehicles through dedicated entrances and exits.

  • Loading dock security

Loading docks are a tempting target for thieves. A sliding gate at the entrance to the yard helps keep them secure.

Good to know

Gates as part of a complete system

Our automatic gates and barriers provide perimeter control and highly effective security in a single package by regulating the entry and exit of vehicles and people.

Gates are only one part of the equation. If your premises would benefit from a new gate, we integrate it with your additional or existing security measures such as CCTV cameras and access control, so the whole site works together.

Automatic gates must be installed in line with safety standards and maintained regularly. We recommend a routine service at least once a year to test components, lubricate moving parts and check safety features.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions about automatic gates

Which type of automatic gate is right for my site?

It depends on the width of the entrance, the space available, the ground and the traffic. Sliding gates suit wide entrances with no room to swing, bi folding gates suit busy entrances and swing gates are versatile for many sites. We advise on this during the site inspection.

Can automatic gates work with access control?

Yes. Gates can be opened by cards, fobs, keypads, intercoms or number plate recognition, and managed through the same system as your doors.

Are automatic gates safe?

When installed and maintained properly, yes. We fit safety devices such as photocells and safety edges and install gates in line with the relevant safety standards.

How often do automatic gates need servicing?

We recommend at least once a year to test components, lubricate moving parts and check that all safety features are working.

Can you add an automatic gate to existing fencing?

In many cases, yes. We will assess the existing fencing and posts during the site inspection and advise on the best approach.
