CCTV
Commercial CCTV designed around your site
The applications of modern CCTV are diverse, and the systems themselves are endlessly customisable to the needs of a given commercial or industrial client. As installers of commercial security systems across the East Midlands, CCTV forms a cornerstone of what MSME Security does.
We rarely treat CCTV as a standalone product. Wherever it makes sense, we integrate cameras with access control, automatic barriers and gates so that your site works as one complete security system rather than a collection of separate parts.
Every system starts with a free site inspection by one of our engineers, who assesses coverage, lighting, cabling routes and the areas that matter most to you before designing anything. The engineer who visits your site is the person who designs and installs your system.

What we install
What our commercial CCTV systems can include
IP camera systems
Network cameras that deliver sharp, detailed footage and scale easily as your site grows, from a handful of cameras to large multi building estates.
Dome, bullet and PTZ cameras
Each camera type has its strengths. We specify the right mix for entrances, yards, internal aisles and wide perimeters rather than one model for every position.
Night vision
Infrared and low light cameras keep yards, car parks and perimeters covered through the night, when many sites are at their most vulnerable.
Remote viewing
View live or recorded footage from a computer, smartphone or tablet, so authorised staff can check the site from anywhere.
Number plate recognition
ANPR software reads vehicle registrations at gates and barriers, adding an extra layer of control at vehicle entrances.
Heatmapping and analytics
Optional software that shows how people and vehicles move around a site, useful for operations as well as security.
Typical uses
Where commercial CCTV earns its keep
Warehousing and logistics
Cover yards, loading docks, trailer parks and gatehouses so you have a clear record of every vehicle and movement on site.
Manufacturing plants and factories
A system optimised for coverage can monitor production lines and machinery, helping you respond quickly to a breakdown or accident.
Pharmaceutical manufacturing
CCTV can be used to observe critical manufacturing processes while securing sensitive products and restricted areas.
Chemical and hazardous material facilities
Monitor storage areas and processes remotely, reducing the need for staff to enter higher risk zones.
Retail
Protect stock rooms, tills and shop floors while giving managers the footage they need when an incident occurs.
Offices and commercial premises
Monitor receptions, entrances and car parks and keep a reliable record of who comes and goes.
Good to know
Why invest in a commercial CCTV system
A visible, well designed CCTV system deters criminals and tells anyone on your site that it is being watched. It helps you identify security risks, monitor behaviour, check that safety procedures are being followed and respond properly in the event of a workplace accident.
If a crime or security breach does happen, good quality footage provides the evidence you need. A professionally installed system may also help when discussing premiums with your insurer.
We account for the GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, Information Commissioner's Office guidance, the Surveillance Camera Code of Practice and the Human Rights Act when we design your system, so that it protects your business while respecting the privacy of your employees and visitors.

How we work
Our installation process

FAQs
Frequently asked questions about CCTV
What is a CCTV system?
A CCTV (closed circuit television) system is a surveillance system used for security and monitoring. Cameras capture video footage and send it to a limited number of monitors and recorders, rather than broadcasting it publicly.
What types of cameras might my business need?
There are many cameras on the market, including dome, bullet and PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom) cameras, each with their own strengths. Our engineers assess your requirements during the site inspection and specify cameras around them.
What is remote viewing?
Remote viewing lets authorised users watch live or recorded footage from a computer, smartphone or similar internet connected device. It means you can check your site from anywhere.
Are there privacy regulations I need to be aware of?
Yes. These include the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, Information Commissioner's Office guidance, the Surveillance Camera Code of Practice and the Human Rights Act. We account for all of these when we design and install your system.
How often does a CCTV system need to be maintained?
With many components and subsystems involved, we recommend maintenance twice a year to clean and check cameras, test equipment and update software. We offer maintenance as an additional service for all of our security systems.
How long does a commercial CCTV system last?
It depends on the quality of the components and how the system is used, but a well maintained system can last between five and ten years, and potentially longer.
Do you offer 24/7 monitoring for CCTV systems?
Yes. This includes real time alarm response and video surveillance to keep your property secure at all hours.
