Why it matters

Security for sites that never stop

The East Midlands sits at the heart of the UK's logistics network. With the M1, A50, A42 and A38 running through the region, East Midlands Airport handling large volumes of air freight and major distribution parks across Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, warehousing is one of the most important industries in the area.

Large logistics sites bring security challenges that smaller premises do not. They have long perimeters, wide yards, trailer parks, many loading doors and a constant flow of HGVs, agency staff and visiting drivers, often around the clock.

MSME Security is based in Castle Donington, right next to East Midlands Airport and the logistics parks around it. We design complete systems for these sites, so every part of the operation is covered and every system works with the others.

Zone by zone

How we secure a logistics site

We look at the site in zones, from the boundary inwards, and design the right combination of systems for each one.

  • Perimeter

Security fencing, pedestrian gates and lighting along the boundary, covered by cameras so the fence line is watched day and night.

  • Gatehouse and vehicle entrance

Automatic gates and barriers with number plate recognition, intercoms to the gatehouse and separate lanes for HGVs and cars where needed.

  • Yard and trailer park

PTZ and fixed cameras with night vision, supported by column and building mounted yard lighting for safe vehicle movements after dark.

  • Loading docks

Clear camera coverage of every dock door, door contacts on the intruder alarm and lighting that helps drivers and forklift operators.

  • Buildings and staff areas

Access control for offices, welfare areas, high value stock cages and the warehouse floor, with time and attendance recording if you need it.

  • Fire safety

Fire detection suited to tall, open warehouse spaces and racking, with sounders and beacons that reach every part of the building.

Joined up

One system, not a collection of parts

On a busy logistics site, systems that do not talk to each other create gaps. We integrate CCTV with access control, barriers and gates, so a vehicle arriving at the gatehouse is recognised, recorded and let through in one step.

Lighting is planned with camera positions in mind, fencing is designed to meet gates cleanly, and access controlled doors release when the fire alarm activates. The result is a site that is easier to manage and much harder to breach.

Every design starts with a free site inspection by the engineer who will be your point of contact throughout. There are no salespeople, and recommendations are based on what your site genuinely needs.

How we work

Our installation process

Every project follows the same straightforward steps, led from start to finish by one experienced engineer.

  1. 01

    Initial contact

Call our team on 01332 492002 or send an enquiry using the form. Tell us a little about your site and what you need.

  2. 02

    Site inspection

One of our engineers, who will be your point of contact from then on, visits at an agreed time to assess your current security, identify shortfalls and consider areas for improvement.

  3. 03

    Consultation

You and your engineer talk through the finer details. No two businesses are the same, so we consider everything from previous incidents to your industry and location.

  4. 04

    Design

With your budget in mind, your engineer designs a system specifically for your facility, including any extras that would genuinely help, such as CCTV software or connected intercoms.

  5. 05

    Quotation

We produce a final quotation covering sourcing, installation and labour costs, free of charge.

FAQs

Warehouse and logistics security questions

Can you secure a warehouse that operates 24 hours a day?

Yes. We design systems for sites that never fully close and plan installation work around your operation to keep disruption to a minimum.

Can barriers recognise our regular hauliers?

Yes. Number plate recognition at the barrier or gate can open automatically for authorised vehicles and record every vehicle that arrives and leaves.

How do you light a large yard for CCTV?

Usually with a combination of building mounted floodlights and column mounted lighting, positioned to support the cameras and reduce dark spots and glare.

Can access control manage agency and shift workers?

Yes. Credentials can be issued and cancelled instantly, access can be limited to certain areas and times, and the system can record time and attendance.

Do you install fire alarms in high bay warehouses?

Yes. Tall, open buildings with racking need detection designed for those spaces. We design detection and alarm coverage around your building and your fire risk assessment.

Can you work with our existing systems?

Yes. We regularly integrate new equipment with existing security measures, so you only replace what genuinely needs replacing.
